Funds and Student Accounts

Fundraising activities occur throughout the school year.  A broad spectrum of student and parent fundraising programs are offered for all students to raise money for the events, trips and activities in which the various ensembles participate.​   Money raised through fundraising efforts are applied to either the General Fund or Individual Student Accounts.

The General Fund

A General Fund is used for general expenses for the band and chorus programs which include uniform cleaning and repairs, truck rentals, transportation, providing water during practice, offering scholarships and offsetting the cost of trips and events.  Money for the general fund is raised largely through our Snack Stand but also other group fundraising events. 

Individual Student Accounts

Each student has an opportunity to raise funds which will be put into his or her own Individual Account.  These funds can then be used to pay the cost of trips or events.  Parents are able to raise funds for their student's Individual Account by volunteering at the Snack Stand.   The remaining funds in a graduating student's individual account can be passed to another student or the General Fund upon graduation.   Seniors should contact the SVMC Treasurer with instructions prior to graduation.  If instructions are not provided and there are no known siblings in the school district, any remaining balances in the Individual Account will be transferred to the Scholarship Fund as a donation.

Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship Fund is utilized for students who meet specific criteria for financial need.  The Scholarship Fund can assist with uniform fees, events, trips or any  other cost in which an Individual Account could be used.  The Scholarship Fund is funded by donation.

Contributors may donate to Saucon Valley Music Connection
via an online payment or by submitting a check.  The SVMC is a 501c3 organization.

Gifts of cash can be made by individuals, corporations or other foundations.  Individuals interested in giving gifts through wills, trusts, and securities, or as a memorial or tribute should email the SVMC Treasurer at treasurer@svmusicconnection.org.
